We're looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join our fully remote team. If you've built production AI systems with LLMs, know your way around RAG architectures, and want to work on a product where AI is the core — not an afterthought — this role is for you.
What you'll do
Design and build LLM-powered features and AI agent pipelines — from prompt to production
Extend and optimize our RAG / knowledge base system: chunking strategies, embedding models, vector search, hybrid retrieval (BM25 + semantic), and reranking
Implement agentic workflows with tool use, multi-step reasoning and structured outputs
Build document- and email-processing pipelines that leverage LLMs for classification, extraction and summarization
Integrate and manage LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and AI SDKs across the stack
Design evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to measure and continuously improve AI output quality
Build and optimize agents for our growing template library
Operate in an AI-first development setup powered by Claude/Cursor
Our techstack
Backend: TypeScript
Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui
AI: OpenAI & Anthropic APIs, Vercel AI SDK, vector search, semantic reranking
Database: We don't want to disclose this publicly at the moment
What we're looking for
Hands-on experience building production AI systems with LLMs — not just prototypes, but systems that run reliably at scale
Deep familiarity with RAG architectures: chunking, embedding models, vector search, hybrid retrieval and reranking
Experience with AI SDKs and frameworks (Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
Proficiency in TypeScript
Comfort with agentic systems: tool use, structured outputs and evaluation
You actively think about cost, latency and quality trade-offs and know how to optimize across all three
About Us
We are a German automation agency turned into a SaaS with our product hausverwalter.ai.
Most Germany property managers work with 5-10 software tools daily. Our goal is to replace them all, while also building autonomous agents right into the software.
For a closer look at what we're building, check out our YouTube channel — heads up, it's in German.
The role is fully remote – though you're always welcome to drop by our office in Worms, Germany. You'll fit in well if you're after more than just the "freedom part" of remote work and are truly eager to roll up your sleeves and grow alongside us for the long haul.
Salary
$1000 - $3000 per month before taxes. There will be room for growth and promotion in the years ahead
What we offer
100% remote work
AI-first mindset
As many Codex/Claude/Cursor-Subscriptions as you need
Permanent employment-contract in your country of residence through our partner Deel (Employer of Record)
A software that our customers are genuinely excited about
Modern tech stack – you'll work exclusively with cutting-edge technologies
Focus on building, instead of long meetings
Job security: Everyone we bring on is meant to grow with us over the long term. Every hire is aimed at permanent employment.
Strong pay & career prospects: We'll continue growing and expanding in the years to come. To do that, we need more experts and/or leaders on board.
Very flexible working hours
The freedom (and responsibility) to design and implement your own features
If a long-term remote position at a structured, growing company sounds like what you're after, we'd be glad to receive your application.
