We are seeking a motivated and curious AI Engineer to join our growing team. This is an entry-level role ideal for recent college graduates with a strong academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. The AI Engineer will work alongside senior engineers to design, build, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions that drive business value. This position is on a hybrid work model out of the NY office.

Key Responsibilities:

Model Development & Experimentation:

• Assist in designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Run experiments to test model performance, iterate on hyperparameters, and document findings.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to prepare, clean, and transform data for model training.

AI Engineering & Deployment:

• Write clean, well-documented Python code for data pipelines, model training workflows, and inference services.
• Support the integration of AI/ML models into production applications via REST APIs.
• Monitor deployed models for performance degradation and data drift, flagging issues to senior team members.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Partner with senior engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices for AI/ML development.
• Document technical work, experiments, and model performance results clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Research & Continuous Learning:

• Stay current with emerging AI/ML research, tools, frameworks, and industry trends.
• Contribute ideas for improving existing AI workflows and pipelines based on new techniques or tooling.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field (required).

Technical Skills:

• Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python with exposure to ML/AI libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Familiarity with data manipulation tools such as pandas and NumPy.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs and software development practices including version control with Git.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) through coursework or projects is a plus.
• Experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) or prompt engineering through coursework or personal projects is a plus.

Other Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and grow within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Internship or co-op experience in a software engineering, data science, or AI/ML role.
• Capstone project, research, or published work involving machine learning or AI applications.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases) is a plus.

Certifications:

Preferred (not required at time of hire)

Targeted Salary Range is: $85k - $95k
