AI Engineer
As Digi International expands our capabilities in AI and data-driven intelligence, we are seeking a AI Engineer to help build the next generation of enterprise focused solutions to support growth, security, and operational excellence. This role is critical to ensuring scalable, secure, and transformative AI solutions for use across business functions.
In this role, you will design, build, and deploy AI systems that extract insights from disparate datasets, enhance automation, and support decision-making across Digi. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is passionate about AI, machine learning, and real-world applications of data.
Responsibilities
- Acquire or develop and implement AI solutions in support of various business functions
- Partner with IT and business unit engineers to ensure security is applied to all AI efforts
- Administer access and Fin-Ops for Digi’s standard AI solutions including training, standards and policies
- Serve as technical authority and mentor to elevate AI skills across teams
- Assist in building data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and analysis
- Work with large datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and predictive insights
- Collaborate with business functions and product software engineers to integrate AI models into various systems
- Support development of digital intelligence features (e.g., predictive, anomaly detection, optimization)
- Contribute to experimentation, model evaluation, and performance tuning
- Document models, workflows, and technical approaches
- Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and best practices
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field with equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or software engineering
- Hands on experience with several standard AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, etc.)
- Experience building custom databases and working with datasets and data preprocessing (e.g., SQL and/or data engineering tools)
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Hands-on experience with MCP servers or APIs extending access from enterprise systems to AI tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure, security, and business teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Proven experience leading initiatives from architecture design through implementation
Desired But Not Required
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with enterprise data, time-series data, or edge computing
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Understanding of MLOps concepts (model deployment, monitoring)

The anticipated pay range for this position is $63,000 – $99,000, which includes base salary plus incentive bonus target. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level, and primary job location. The specific salary offered will depend on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and location.
