Analytics & AI Engineer
Swiss ReWe are looking for an analytical engineer with experience coding in Python to build intelligent insights for our business applications. You will fuse large volumes of structured and unstructured data which has been prepared in our data lake with AI models and custom code to help inform decisions taken by users. This is an opportunity to work on the bleeding edge of technology and apply your analytical and programming skills to solve real-world challenges.
About the Role
In this role you will act as the bridge connecting our transactional systems with analytical platforms to complete the loop from data capture to decision taking. You will apply your analytical brain and knowledge of MLOps, big data processing, and AI models to serve up queryable insights as high-quality, permissioned apis. Responsibilities include:
- Experience with GenAI, specifically from the unstructured-data space (e.g., entity extraction from PDFs, summarization)
- Agentic AI workflow design and implementation.
- Developing eval test suites to ensure model correctness.
- Creating safety guardrails to ensure responsible access to AI models.

Writing and reviewing analytical Python code, and ensuring that appropriate architectural patterns and practices are applied.
Managing Spark build pipelines.
Operational production stability, incident handling, testing, and application monitoring.

About You
You are someone who has a passion for business insights and understands the fundamentals of machine learning combined with big data analytics. You keep your knowledge of emerging AI models up to date with practical experience and keep abreast of developments in this fast-moving area. You value diverse perspectives and know how to work in a cross-functional team with other experts throughout product and engineering.
- Must be proficient with Python and understand Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Software engineering and cloud backend development, recent hands-on work building GenAI/RAG applications (Azure, OpenAI, LangChain/LangGraph).
- Must be willing to learn how our large-scale SaaS data analytics platform works.
- Must have working knowledge of AI models and how they differ from training traditional ML models.
- Experience with development best practices (e.g., writing tests and documentation, GIT)
- Experience deploying AI systems into production environments, including model monitoring and maintenance
- Experience with Data Science / Statistics (e.g., knowledge about evaluation metrics and concepts like overfitting, train/test split)
- A continuous learner who remains open-minded and curious about new technologies.
