At Curai, we believe that access to high-quality healthcare is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. Our mission is to radically transform healthcare by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and clinical expertise to make care more affordable, accessible, and effective for everyone.

Curai is a health tech company on a mission to expand access to affordable, high-quality primary care for everyone. Since 2017, we've operated an AI-powered virtual primary care platform that has delivered over 700,000 patient visits, using AI to help our clinicians work more effectively at scale. We're now publishing the first proof that AI can reason as well as clinicians in live clinical environments — demonstrating the feasibility of autonomous AI in primary care. We're building toward a future where autonomous AI can deliver safe, accurate primary care at scale. Research is core to how we operate, with 24 peer-reviewed papers and over 740 citations in top venues including Machine Learning for Health, NAACL, and ACL. See our publications

About the Clinical Informaticist / Clinical AI Specialist

We're looking for a Clinical Informaticist / Clinical AI Specialist to sit at the intersection of medicine and AI. You'll be part of a small clinical AI team shaping how great primary care actually works into logic, workflows, and evaluation frameworks that shape the products our providers and patients rely on every day.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role. You'll be joining an interdisciplinary AI team made up of clinical experts, AI researchers, and engineers — a rare environment where medical and technical rigor sit side by side. You'll collaborate broadly across the company: partnering with engineers and product teams to shape what gets built, and working directly alongside the clinical team delivering care to patients every day. It's a unique vantage point that keeps your work grounded in both technical possibility and real-world clinical practice.

What You'll Do
  • Define what good looks like for AI-augmented primary care, setting the clinical standards and safety guardrails our models and products are held to.
  • Contribute to provider and patient-facing AI applications, including building multi-agent architectures for solving clinical and subclinical problems across acute and chronic care management, and translating clinical best practices and guidelines into structured logic for grounding LLMs.
  • Lead or co-author clinical research publications in top-tier journals.
  • Work fluidly across AI, product, design, and operations, communicating complex clinical concepts clearly to non-clinical audiences.

What You'll Bring
Required:
  • Clinician with 1+ years of post-residency clinical experience
  • Demonstrated experience developing or evaluating AI/ML solutions in a clinical or research context
  • Hands-on experience working with large language models
  • Exceptional communication skills — you can explain clinical nuance to an engineer and technical tradeoffs to a clinician
Strongly preferred:
  • Experience designing and executing clinical or scientific research
  • Familiarity with IRB processes, state medical boards, or FDA regulatory frameworks
  • Background in software development or clinical informatics

Who Thrives Here
You're a physician who's energized by the idea that technology, done right, can dramatically improve how care is delivered. You're comfortable with ambiguity, curious about tradeoffs, and motivated by problems that don't have clean answers yet. You want your work to matter — at scale.
