Data Analyst 1

Provide department leadership with reliable data from trusted source systems that will empower and influence key decision making. Access and integrate data for reporting to establish data standards, quality and reliability.

This level of Data Analyst will work on data coming from a single system and is structured. 

They will create standardized dashboards and reporting, provide data monitoring to assess for data quality and resolve any data issues from data systems. 

Understand the Data Defining what the data is, where it is coming from, how it will be captured, and how it will be consumed.

Data Quality Assessment Validation of data quality including sources, reliability, completeness, validity, and uniqueness. 

Organize the Data Address accessibility, usability, data modeling & structuring, aggregation, field definition & use, statistical validity, data warehouse creation 

Configuring Data for Accessing 

Channeling the data to where it is needed, predictive/statistical modeling, query building, data sources, quality assurance

Reporting Using business requirements to tell the story, developing dashboards & reports that are actionable and measurable, quality assurance 

Security & User Acceptance Audience access, viewing including how the data will be received, communications, instruction on data use 

Outcomes/Insights Data that enables business leaders to make informed decisions

Education & Work Experience: 

• BS/BA Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field plus a minimum 0-2 years performing single system data validation, quality assessments, and configuration of reports and standardized dashboards OR no degree w/6 years experience performing single system data validation, quality assessments, and configuration of reports and standardized dashboards

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge and skill in Business Objects and Tableau
• Writing of queries, and reports, using R and SQL
• Seeing and understanding the story data tells
• Works with moderate oversight and meets established deadlines
• Delivers defined projects with frequent oversight
• Problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting and the designing and implementation of solutions to complex technical issues
• Thrive in both a team environment and as an individual contributor
• English is prefered. 

Specific Certifications, Licenses:

• Prefer data management, data quality, or data visualization certification
