General Position Summary
As an AI Engineer I, you will support the development and deployment of AI solutions under the guidance of senior team members. This entry-level role focuses on learning and applying foundational AI concepts while contributing to smaller components of larger efforts.
This strategic role sits at the intersection of advanced AI technology and insurance innovation, driving our company's evolution into an AI-first insurance provider. The successful candidate will shape how we leverage artificial intelligence to revolutionize core insurance processes, from underwriting and claims to customer experience and risk assessment.
As a key participant in our digital transformation journey, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing our traditional insurance operations into data-driven, automated, and intelligent systems that meet the demands of the modern insurance marketplace.
You will partner with a team of dedicated AI professionals in establishing best practices for responsible AI development while ensuring compliance with insurance regulations and data protection best practices.

Essential Job Functions
List 6-10
Work cross-functionally to identify high-impact AI use cases across insurance operations.
Support data preparation and integration tasks for AI workflows.
Design and provision appropriate AI infrastructure leveraging cloud services.
Assist in developing and testing AI models and algorithms.
Help maintain documentation and follow coding standards.
Participate in code reviews and team meetings.
Learn and apply best practices in AI development and deployment.
Stay informed about basic AI concepts and tools.
Ensure responsible AI development with focus on ethics, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance by partnering with the Data Governance, Information security, and Legal compliance teams.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate AI solutions with existing systems.
Minimum Qualifications

This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents, and traits:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in AI/ML development, with at least 2 years in production environments.
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, with experience in major ML frameworks (ML.Net, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Familiarity in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, SnowFlake) and MLOps practices.
Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Capable of balancing multiple projects with the ability to meet deadlines.
Desired Qualifications

Strong background in IT and financial services / insurance preferred.
Prior experience using Microsoft Stack and Snowflake preferred.
