WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As an AI Engineer Consultant, you will work as a hands-on technical contributor building and delivering advanced AI solutions for our client. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning systems that integrate seamlessly into enterprise environments. You will partner with engineers, product stakeholders, and technical leadership to translate business needs into robust, production-ready solutions.
Your work will focus on developing modern AI capabilities, including large language model (LLM) applications and intelligent workflows, while leveraging cloud-native services in Azure. You will play a key role in implementing reliable, secure, and high-performing AI solutions, contributing to architecture decisions, and improving engineering practices across the team. This position requires strong technical depth, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to move efficiently from concept to deployment in a fast-paced environme
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions using Python and Azure-based services
- Develop LLM-powered applications, including agent-based workflows and multi-step orchestration
- Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems using APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architecture
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and program stakeholders
- Contribute to solution architecture discussions, including tool selection and design trade-offs
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency while maintaining high code quality
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes to ensure reliable deployments
- Deploy, monitor, and optimize AI solutions in production, focusing on performance, cost, and reliability
- Troubleshoot issues across development and production environments
- Contribute to reusable components, shared frameworks, and best practices for AI engineering
- Support data preparation, prompt engineering, and evaluation to improve model effectiveness
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to enhance solutions

YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML technologies, including LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions
- Experience integrating AI services into applications using APIs and cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
- Experience deploying and supporting AI/ML systems in production environments
- Familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar
- Understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation techniques, and observability for AI systems
- Knowledge of data security and privacy considerations in AI solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently within defined scope
- Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
- Familiarity with vector databases or graph-based data systems
- Experience building reusable AI components or internal AI platforms
- Exposure to advanced Azure AI services such as Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Search
WHAT WE OFFER:
- The annual salary range for this role is $175,000-$200,000.

LOCATION:
This role is hybrid with some on-site presence required at our client's Seattle, WA location.
